Wayne is an operations and financial management professional with more than 25 years’ corporate and non-profit experience. His focus areas include finance and operations; project and change management; social outcomes measurement; and the leadership of philanthropic programs.
Born in England, Wayne and his family emigrated to New Zealand when he was 10. He graduated from Victoria University in Wellington, majoring in politics and English in addition to completing a degree in finance and accounting. Initially working as a Chartered Accountant, Wayne transitioned into contract finance and project-based roles in a variety of organizations in New Zealand, England, and Spain. He moved to Colorado in 2003, and in 2007 he and his wife Victoria moved to Boston where he worked at an education non-profit and for six years as the Vice President for Corporate Citizenship at State Street Bank. In 2019 they relocated to Austin when he joined Friends Austin.
From 2015 to 2025, Wayne served as a board member and Treasurer for Engaging Schools, a Massachusetts non-profit that creates communities of learning to integrate academic, social, and emotional development in public school programs. During his time in Boston, he volunteered as a mentor to college students.
Outside of a professional setting, when not hiking on a trail he’ll be found exploring Austin’s food and music scene or traversing the Texas hill country and western deserts by motorcycle.
