Sierra was born in Austin, TX and possesses dual citizenship as a Peruvian being born to a mother whose homeland is Peru. Her parents instilled in her the importance of service to others and our responsibility as citizens to work towards a more just society. While in university she had the opportunity to study in Costa Rica, and upon returning to the U.S, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Sociology from Texas State University.
After university Sierra joined the SAFE Alliance in Austin where she mentored and advocated for children residing on campus. She brings with her a lifelong passion for justice, equality and service and is excited to be a part of the Friends of the Children’s mission and to continue investing in the lives of youth in her hometown.
