Sheila is a community development professional passionate about collaborating with communities to create impactful change through community partnerships. Her experience includes working with DC Credit Union to advance youth banking and safe banking for migrants in the DC metro area. She is a two-time AmeriCorps VISTA who worked to advance financial empowerment and increase fundraising efforts for affordable housing in Washington DC.
She is a recent graduate of the Cornell University Professional Certificate program in project management. She has a dual bachelor’s degree in international relations and political science from Salisbury University. Sheila is a new resident of Austin; her husband and pet dog moved from the DC- Metro Area at the beginning of 2022. In her free time, Sheila enjoys traveling, listening to music, trying new foods, hiking, camping, and managing her travel Instagram page at Ms. Nayatravels.
