Marlene has extensive experience working with youth facing systemic barriers and children impacted by the foster care system. Her roles in emergency shelters and group homes provided her with invaluable insights into the challenges these children face and strengthened her commitment to supporting their growth and resilience. Most recently, Marlene earned her master’s degree in social work, which deepened her skills and broadened her capacity to serve others. She worked with Pathways Youth and Family Services, where she provided behavioral health services to children and youth across Austin and its surrounding areas.
Marlene is passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential, drawing on her background, expertise, and compassionate approach to guide them through life’s challenges. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, Rico, as well as engaging in art and meditation, activities that help her recharge and stay grounded. Marlene remains committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of the youth she serves.
