Marisa Ignacio

Professional Mentor

Marisa Ignacio was born in Redwood City, California and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice, where she developed a strong interest in child advocacy, behavioral health, and community support.

Early in her career, Marisa worked with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting daily living skills, independence, and emotional wellbeing. After relocating to Austin, Texas, she worked as a Program Director for a nonprofit organization serving youth in foster care, where she focused on mentorship, advocacy, and creating supportive environments for children and families.

Marisa has also spent time living in Colorado, where she grew to love being outdoors and staying active. In her free time, she enjoys pickleball, golf, traveling, spending time with her dog Nellie, and finding any excuse to be outside.
