Luis Maldonado is the proud product of immigrant parents and brings over seven years of experience supporting diverse and vulnerable populations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he co-founded a student organization to support and advocate for undocumented students, known as “Dreamers.”
At the heart of Luis’ work is a belief in the power of showing up consistently, staying present, and empowering youth to create lasting generational change. As a case manager, he supported youth navigating complex trauma and major life transitions by building strong, caring relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and accountability. He has also served as a swim instructor at the YMCA, fostering confidence, skill development, and positive behavioral growth through personalized instruction and collaboration with families.
Outside of his professional work, Luis remains active in the community through recreational sports such as kickball, pickleball, and volleyball. He also serves as Events Director for Stonewall Sports Austin, a nonprofit league, where he helps create inclusive, affirming spaces through leadership, connection, and engagement.
