Kay is a native Texan. She grew up in Port Arthur and attended East Texas Baptist University. In 2016 she made Austin her home. Her passion for helping others to see their value has driven her enjoyable, eclectic work career. Developing a worship arts program for 300 children and leading 18 justice initiatives for women to Kolkata, India, she has been able to use her creative abilities in ways she never dreamed. From producing an original song written by women rescued from the sex trade in Kolkata, facilitating the start of a slum village sewing center in Udyan Pally, India, and producing over twenty-five musicals for children, her experiences have left her knowing that life is about way more than herself. Having served as the National Project Coordinator for a nonprofit in Austin just prior to joining Friends of the Children, Kay feels like she has found a special home within this organization.
