Staff: Anders Allison

Anders is a native Texan originally from the DFW area who graduated from The Military College of South Carolina with a BA in Political Science. He and his husband moved to Austin to raise a family in a place where diversity is a welcomed part of the city's culture. His background is in preschool and elementary education primarily in ESL and Special Education classrooms. Through volunteer translating and youth program leadership, he discovered a passion for helping others, especially in mentoring children. Prior to Friends Austin, he ran a grant funded program to provide vocational rehabilitation services and independent living skills for adults with disabilities. He loves being a part of a nonprofit that provides great opportunities for young people to grow and thrive.
