Family Emergency Fund

The 225 youth and families served by Friends Austin are facing food insecurity due to the reduction and delay of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

On average, the families in our program have four children living in their household, and every family we serve is living below the poverty line. Therefore, our families will find themselves without the ability to have the food and nutrition they need. We want to ensure that the children in our program do not go hungry.

Because of the trust-based, sustained relationships they have built with our youth and families, our Friends are ready to step in at this critical moment by grocery shopping and delivering food directly to families' doors.
